“I was born in Prague, Czech Republic. I started taking photos five years ago and most of all, i like minimalist landscape photography. For my work i use classic medium format camera and the roll film.” – Lukáš Peterec

Brandt Campbell : “Cinemascapes” Series (Photography)

::

My ‘Cinemascapes’ are an ongoing series of [mostly] street photos shot in such a way that they
appear cinematic and invoke a sense of narrative, which is open to the viewer’s interpretation.

I took an interest in the arts at a very early age, beginning to draw as soon as I could hold a crayon. By the time I entered high school I had already earned a reputation with students and teachers for my ability to draw with photographic precision. From there, my artistic career evolved and branched off in many directions. Aside from a class I took about camera functions and darkroom basics, I lack any formal training and am entirely self-taught. My inspiration comes from all kinds of things, and changes with the seasons. I draw from the aesthetics and moods of music, nature, film, paintings, weather, and people. I absolutely love art; I live and breathe art. If I couldn’t be creative anymore I truly believe I’d have lost my purpose in life, that purpose being to create beauty from inspiration and emotions. “For me, photography represents a wonderful means to communicate and, at the same time, to give the viewers the chance to feel emotions. I am not quite sure if it’s me who is looking for the themes or if it’s the themes themselves who are looking for me. Yet, whenever such an encounter happens, a picture arises, almost perfectly within myself and with my personality.” Pierre Pellegrini

Azurebumble : ‘AI : Series’ (Photography Book)

::

::

Recently, I’ve curated a number of image series by photographers from ‘Flickr’ on my blog ‘Aesthetic Investigations’. Subsequently, I thought it would be interesting to document these works in a book. Therefore, i’ve arranged a collection of ’39’ abstract and minimal photographic series by these ’32’ artists. A selection of pages from the book can be viewed below, a full book preview can be seen: HERE

::

Thank you to everyone who contributed their images to this project.

Catching places, cities, glances: Ronan Guillou translates his pleasure and desire for keeping traces of them during his walks. Cities, and the people who animate them, are the basis of his humanistic approach. Aside from his commercial campaigns, Guillou’s personal work records moments of ordinary life, where men and women are photographed during their daily routines in urban landscapes. Initially influenced by cinematic environments and the aesthetics of American cities, his work also extends to cities in Asia, Europe and South America. Without criticism, Guillou feels affection and empathy for his characters, giving the images a pictorialist and poetic depth… – [Extract : Bio – Sous Les Etoiles Gallery]
