Happy Particles : ‘Under Sleeping Waves’ (Track – Aerials)

::

::

‘You could float on this album for days, allowing its gorgeous melodies to wrap themselves around your head and soothe your tired mind. You could listen to it on repeat and find something new catching your ear each time – there are rich levels of detail, but nothing which ever feels forced or superfluous. It is – well, there’s that word once more – stunning.’ ~ [Review : The Scotsman/Radar]

In October of 2011, a small group of filmmakers, photographers and musicians traveled to the remote countryside of Iceland to document their experience with the landscape, traditions and people encountered along the way. The end result is a series of improvised, collaborative musical vignettes – based on field recordings and visual material collected on location – amidst documentary footage of the journey to a uniquely breathtaking place. The feature-length film and accompanying soundtrack features work by thirteen contemporary classical composers and electronic producers. ~ Extract : Vimeo

Puddle thinking

Imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, “This is an interesting world I find myself in, an interesting hole I find myself in, fits me rather neatly, doesn't it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!”

This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it's still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything’s going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise.

I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for.
